At the January 21st, 2019 meeting, Borough Council presented a plaque to; Ms. Joanne Redfern, for her 22 years of dedication and service as the Borough real estate tax collector. 
Mayor Kissell then administered the oath of office to the newly appointed borough real estate tax collector; Mrs. Sylvia Enedy.  Mrs. Enedy will commence collecting taxes in March; at the borough administration building in council chambers.  The hours of collection will be on Monday and Tuesdays only from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.  If residents want to mail their taxes, checks should be made payable to Portage Borough Tax Collector, PO Box 115, Portage, PA  15946. 
As of reminder to all Borough residents, snow plowing operations are now in effect.  It will be unlawful to park on the odd side of the street on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and on the even side of a street on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from November through March between the hours of 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The Lateral testing of all properties will be required in Ward 3 upon completion of the project.  For compliance and testing requirements; refer to Ordinance 4-2014 under the Ordinance tab.

 Borough Council Meetings

Portage Borough Council has announced the regular and committee monthly meetings for 2019 which will be held on the first Monday of each month; unless the first Monday is a holiday, in which case the meeting will be held on the first Tuesday.  The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. prevailing time at the Portage Borough Administration Building located at 721 Main Street, Portage, PA. 

Regular meetings for 2019 will be Monday January 7th, February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, May 6th, June 3rd, July 15th, August 5th, Tuesday-September 3rd, October 7th, November 4th and December 2nd.

 Committee of the Whole meetings for 2019 will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 21st, Tuesday, February 19th, March 18th, April 15th, May 20th, June 17th, August 19th, September 16th, October 21st, and November 18th.

A special meeting of Council (budget adoption) will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
