Portage Borough is now accepting applications for a fulltime laborer position in the Public Works Department.  Applications can be picked up in the Secretary's office or download from the above link.  Applications; along with a resume, will be accepted until Thursday, December 14th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. 
Requesting any volunteers to assist with the installation of the ice rink liner at Crichton McCormick Park on Friday, November 24th, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Please help by bringing a snow shovel, rake, bush brooms, etc

The Lateral testing of all properties will be required in Ward 3 upon completion of the project.  For compliance and testing requirements; refer to Ordinance 4-2014 under the Ordinance tab.

WinterFest 2017 to be held December 8th through the 10th.  
There will be a meeting at the Chatterbox on Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
This is our 10th year!  We hope to see you there for planning progress. If you know anyone else interested in offering an event during WinterFest or just willing to help, please have them join us at this meeting.  Have a great day!

Portage Borough Council is accepting letters of interest for the following boards and commissions for expiring terms of:

                          Water Authority Board for a five (5) year term (2018-2022)

                     Water Authority Board for remaining term until 2018

                     Planning Commission for a five (5) year term (2018-2022)

                     Portage Joint Recreation for a three (3) year term (2018-2020)

                     Borough Engineer and Borough Solicitor for two (2) year  2018-2019

Please submit letters of interest by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 to:

 Borough Council Meetings

Portage Borough Council has announced the regular and committee monthly meetings for 2017 which will be held on the first Monday of each month; unless the first Monday is a holiday, in which case the meeting will be held on the first Tuesday.  The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. prevailing time at the Portage Borough Administration Building located at 721 Main Street, Portage, PA. 

 Regular meetings for 2017 will be Tuesday January 3rd, February 6th, March 6th, April 3rd, May 1st, June 5th, July 17th, August 7th, Tuesday-September 5th, October 2nd, November 6th and December 4th.

 Committee of the Whole meetings for 2017 will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 16th, Tuesday, February 21st, March 20th, April 17th, May 15th, June 19th, August 21st, September 18th, October 16th, and November 20th.

A special meeting of Council (budget adoption) will be held on Friday, December 15th at 6:00 p.m.
